View images and photos of the speaker David Wilkerson. Founder of Times Square Church in New York City with over 100 different languages spoken in the congregation. Wilkerson wrote many powerful books such as: The Vision and Cross and the Switchblade. His ministry was prophetic as God called him to be a watchman to the Church in North America. David Wilkerson 1

Description: Reverend David Wilkerson is perhaps best known for his early days of ministry to young drug addicts and gang members in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. His story is told in The Cross and the Switchblade, a book he co-authored which became a best-seller. The story has been read by over 15 million people in some thirty languages since 1963. In 1969, a motion picture of the same title was released.

Description: Now in his seventies, Rev. Wilkerson has been led by the Holy Spirit to exhort pastors and their spouses throughout the world to renew their passion for Christ. "I've been an evangelist for 50 years, but I didn't want to preach to pastors until I had gray hair, until I'd pastored. Now after 15 years of pastoring, sharing the hurts, pains, and difficulties of the ministry as a pastor, I felt the Lord finally release me, that I might have something to say."

Description: God is merciful, gracious and ready to forgive. Christ died to save this lost world; he did not come to destroy, maim or pour out wrath. Out of the terror and pain of the passion of Christ, redemption came. May Christ demonstrate his love and compassion through his disciples, in this hour of mass destruction.

Description: I tell you, it's impossible to be truly holy without
total obedience to our Lord's command to love one
another. Jesus said, "The whole law is fulfilled in
this - that you love God with all your heart, and love
your neighbor as yourself" (see Matthew 22:37-40).
Indeed, God tests our love for him by the love we show
to our Christian brothers and sisters. "If a man say, I
love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he
that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can
he love God whom he hath not seen?" (1 John 4:20).

Description: This trip changed his life forever. David Wilkerson¬ís burden for the lost of the city increased and gave birth to Teen Challenge ¬Ė a nationwide ministry to reach out to people with life controlling habits. The ministry¬ís Bible-based recovery program to troubled teens, gang members, drug addicts and alcoholics has been recognized as one of the most effective efforts of its kind.

Description: God uses people. God uses people to perform His work. He does not send angels. Angels weep over it, but God does not use angels to accomplish His purposes. He uses burdened broken-hearted weeping men and women.
David Wilkerson and the Pastoral Staff

David Wilkerson and the Pastoral Staff

Description: Folks, you read the New Testament, you will find that Paul the Apostle named those who he believed were false prophets. He warned and he named their names. I am telling you now that if you can listen to what I am about to tell you, and not be grieved, then you are blind. You are spiritually blind. You have a hard heart. A heart with a shield on it so that the pure gospel can not penetrate it. The mind has been so saturated with this unbalanced gospel that you can not come to many of them. You can not preach the truth. You can not show them anything else in the scripture because they have a shield over their hearts. Hard hearted.
David Wilkerson Face Shot

David Wilkerson Face Shot

Description: A gospel is being preached that is withering everything that is in sight. Everything that is green and Godly and pure is being withered. The seed is rotten - there is a famine of hearing the pure Word of the Lord.... there is no pasture. The flocks are desolate and hungry. The rivers are drying up. A strange fire is devouring the pastors. Ezekiel says that Shepherds are trampling down the good pasture and eating the best for themselves. What are the shameful disgraceful things that are happening in the Church of Jesus Christ today?
David Wilkerson in Europe

Description: The New Covenant provides that the Holy Spirit will supply all the resources we need to fully obey God. In forming the New Covenant, God obligated (or chained) Himself by an oath to supply all the enabling power and strength to fulfill every condition and demand of the covenant. So, when God says by oath, "I will do it, " faith in us responds, "Let it be so."
David Wilkerson in His Early Ministry Days

David Wilkerson in His Early Ministry Days

Description: God unites and binds and fashions us close to Himself, and Him to us, by this binding contract. The New Covenant is all about our Lord's commitment to keep his children from falling, and to console, comfort and assure us that the power and dominion of sin can and will be broken by the Holy Spirit who indwells us. This truth is the only hope for those who have lost heart in their struggle against a besetting sin. Only by having the New Covenant unveiled to us can we learn the secret to having total victory over sin.
David Wilkerson in his early years

David Wilkerson in his early years

Description: or years, since the day God promised to open to me the truth of the covenant, I had been praying, "Lord, when will you open to me its meaning?" He answered, "You must experience the cross before you can understand it. The doctrine of the New Covenant and your understanding of it will come only after you go through the process of taking up your cross and dying to all that is of self."
David Wilkerson in the pulpit

David Wilkerson in the pulpit

Description: experienced the "going down into nothingness." Now, I am not interested in the dictionary's definition of nothingness. All I know is that I came to the end of myself¬ó down, down, down into a place of total helplessness. I had struggled so hard and for so long to please the Lord, striving earnestly to live holy and to be pure. I had tried diligently to beat down every passion and lust in my body and mind. I had read so many books and listened to so many tapes, looking for keys, insights, secrets to living the life of an overcomer. I wept until there were no more tears. I walked and prayed, I knelt and prayed, I lay on my face and prayed. I wanted to be a pleasure to my Lord so badly, I read my Bible until my eyes were weary. I begged the Holy Spirit to cut off my offending right arm, pluck out my offending right eye, do whatever He had to do to rid me of all besetting sins.

Description: Then one day I could take it no more. On that day, I could not even pray. All I could do was lie on the floor, empty in spirit, with no tears left. Engulfed in a sense of total failure, I could only say, "Lord, I cannot go on like this anymore. I am worn out. I have tried and failed. After all my searching through books, all my study, all my efforts to be a conqueror, I still battle with the flesh. My temptations have not let up. I have tried to be a living sacrifice. I have struggled to live by faith. I have diligently tried to live and walk in the Spirit, to allow Him to lead me and empower me. But I still do not get it. I still do not understand why it is not getting through to me."
David Wilkerson sharing

David Wilkerson sharing

Description: The first vision God gave David Wilkerson was in 1958, directing him to go to New York City. The second was a vision of tragic calamities coming upon the earth. The message was so frightening, so apocalyptic and discomforting, that Mr. Wilkerson could do nothing but kneel, transfixed. God divinely guided him to write down the vision, and one year later, in 1974, The Vision was published as a book (now out of print). Among the nearly forty books Pastor Wilkerson has written, several of the recent titles have had a prophetic message: Set the Trumpet to Thy Mouth, America's Last Call and God's Plan to Protect His People in the Coming Depression. These books of warning all center around strong, biblically-based messages of hope.
