THE NEW TEMPLE PRIESTHOOD
Please carefully read Ezekiel 44:15–16. The Hebrew name Zadok means “right or righteous.” Ezekiel here is referring to a man named Zadok who served as a priest during David’s reign. This righteous man never wavered in his faithfulness to David or to the L ... read more

THE OTHER SIDE OF COMMUNION
Walking in God’s glory means not only that we receive the Father’s love, but that we love him back as well. It’s about mutual affection, both giving and receiving love. The Bible tells us, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with a ... read more

THE PATH OF SURRENDER
God begins the process of surrender by knocking us off our high horse. This literally happened to Paul. He was going his self-assured way, riding toward Damascus, when a blinding light came from heaven. Paul was knocked to the ground, trembling. Then a vo ... read more

THE PIERCING ARROWS OF HOLY TRUTH
I believe God has to accomplish a work in us before we can lay claim to any covenant promise. What is this precedent work upon which all others depend? Jeremiah tells us: “I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me” (Jeremiah ... read more

The Power Of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is not just a one-time act, but a way of life, meant to bring us into every blessing in Christ. “I say unto you. Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and p ... read more

THE POWER OF STAYING GREEN
I was led to read and study Revelation 9, the chapter on the locusts. As I read verse 4, about God’s command to the locusts not to destroy anything green, a thought leaped out at me. I realized that here was the key to remaining safe in any time of t ... read more

THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT TO DELIVER
“Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us” (2 Corinthians 1:10). What an incredible statement! Paul is saying, “The Spirit delivered me out of a hopeless situation. He’s delivering me even no ... read more

THE PRAYER OF UNBELIEF
You’ve heard of the prayer of faith. I believe there is a mirror image of this prayer, a prayer that is based on flesh. I call it the prayer of unbelief. I want to pose a question to you. Have you ever heard the Lord tell you, “Quit praying—get up off ... read more

THE PRESENT GENERATION KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT ENDURANCE
To endure means “to carry through despite hardships; to suffer patiently without giving up.” In short, it means to hold on or hold out. But this word means little to the present generation. Many Christians today are quitters—they quit on their spouses, ... read more

THE PREVENTING LOVE OF THE LORD
Thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head” (Psalm 21:3). At first glance, this verse by David is a bit puzzling. The word “prevent” is usually associated with hindrance, not with blessing. A modern t ... read more

THE PRODIGAL AND HIS FATHER
I believe the prodigal son (see Luke 15) came home because of his history with his father. This young man knew his father’s character, and apparently he had received great love from him. Otherwise, why would he return to a man who would have been angry ... read more

THE PROMISED LAND
I believe that Psalm 46 is a picture of the New Testament “promised land.” Indeed, Psalm 46 represents the divine rest referred to in Hebrews: “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” (Hebrews 4:9). This Psalm describes this rest to God’s ... read more

TO DIE IS GAIN?
Paul said it: “To die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). That kind of talk is absolutely foreign to our modern spiritual vocabularies. We have become such life worshippers, that we have very little desire to depart to be with the Lord. Paul said, “I am in a ... read more
