Isai 55:4 Behold, I have given him [for] a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
A study of the history of nations reveals to us many great commanders. Napoleon was an example of such, and the Old Testament tells us of many great men who God raised up for His people, but no one could rank with God's Own Son Who is the Great Commander. Life is a battle. We must be led in it either by Christ or by Satan. We who are Called by His Name, have acknowledged Him as our Commander. He teaches us how to put on the armor; how to carry the sword; how to face the foe. "What He says we will do; where He sends we will go!" There can be no defeat if we obey His Commands.
Lord Jesus, our Great Commander, our ears are open to Thy Call. Lead Thou on to victory today - even the "victory of our faith!" (1Jn 5:4). Amen. |
