Isai 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
What a title for our Lord --- a "Servant" --- yes, but a "Righteous Servant". If He had not been absolutely Righteous He could never have atoned {paid-for} our unrighteousness. He became a man for the one purpose of becoming a Servant and bearing our iniquities. Do we seek to understand what that meant to Himself and what it means to us who have believed in Him? We are justified through His sacrifice for us. That justification gives us rights and titles which we could never have purchased with the wealth of the universe. He is satisfied with the results of His sacrifice. Are we?
How we thank Thee, Thou "Righteous Servant" for imparting Thine Own Righteousness to us. Help us to glorify Thy Name by telling of Thy finished work on the Cross to a lost world in need. Amen. |
