"THE DAYSMAN"

Intro: Thank God for His hedge about us. Ever striped as Job. Lost, herds,
flocks, camels, servants, children, wife, friends. Sense of worth,
cursed the day of his birth, longed for death.

I. BILDADS ADVICE TO JOB.
A. God is just and fair.
1. Go plead your case with Him.
2. If you are pure and innocent, He'll take up your cause.
B. Hypocrites will always be caught.
1. They may flourish for a while.
2. They will dry and break.
C. God helps the righteous but cuts off evil doers.

II. JOB'S DILEMMA, I KNOW WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE.
A. How can a man plead his case before God?
B. God is so vast.
1. His vast wisdom.
a. Should He ask a thousand questions.
b. His ways beyond our finding out.
2. His vast power.
a. He can remove mountains.
b. He can shake the earth.
c. He created the Universe.
C. God is so nebulour.
1. I can't see Him. vs. 11
2. I can't hinder Him. vs. 12
3. I can't challenge Him. vs. 12
4. He is not a man as I am. Man seeks to bring
God down to his level.
D. How can a finite man reach an infinite God?
1. It is impossible to start with an earth base and build
a bridge to God.
a. Yet this is the endeavor of every religious
system.
b. Modern philosophers encourage you to take a
leap of faith.
1. You might experience something you
can't explain.

III. JOB'S LACK OF A DAYSMAN "NEITHER IS THERE ANY DAYSMAN BETWEEN US
WHO COULD LAY HIS HAND ON US BOTH."
A. Job recognized gulf between God and man too great to span by
all of mans best efforts.
1. Only hope for man would be a daysman.
2. But none exists.

IV. THE CRY OF JOB HAS BEEN ANSWERED IN JESUS.
A. "There is one God, and one mediator between God and man, the
man Christ Jesus."
1. "In the beginning was the Word... and the Word
became flesh..."
2. "That which was from the beginning which we have
seen, heard & touched."
a. Through Jesus man can see God.
b. Through Jesus man can touch God.
B. Jesus Christ is the bridge that spans the infinite gap.
1. He was one with the Father, "He thought it not
something to be grasped to be equal with God."
2. Yet He became one with us, "and in all points was
tempted even as us, that He might be able to help us
in our temptations."
C. The bridge does not have an earth base.
1. It does not begin with man - "For God so loved the
world."
2. It does not involve man reaching up to God.
a. It is God reaching down to man.

This is man's only hope, climb to the top of any of man's ladders they
are too short
