The Book of Revelation was given to us "to shew...things which must shortly come to pass." And we are told that "the time is at hand" (Revelation 1:1,3). How swiftly we move to the consummation of God’s program! Are we to believe God’s Word, and act accordingly or are we to go on drifting down life’s stream until we go over the rapids of death into the darkness of an eternity unprepared? "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Revelation 3:22).

God says: "The time is at hand." However secure we may feel, however smoothly things may appear to be moving along, it is nevertheless a fact that the Lord says, "Behold, I come quickly" (Revelation 22:7, 12). O, let us heed His repeated warnings and be ready!

Faith acts. If in our hearts we believe God’s Word, it is high time we acted in a way to show that we are expecting the great events described in the Book of Revelation to shortly be done (Revelation 22:6). It is high time for us all to awake out of sleep--to arouse ourselves, to believe what God says, and live in readiness for the coming of the Lord.

The Spirit’s call to the children of God today is a call of preparation--a call of faith, a call to believe just what God is telling us--that the time is short and that the coming of the Lord draws nigh! It is not a time for us to rush aimlessly about, fearful of what is to come. It is rather a time for us to draw so near to our Father God through the Blood of Jesus, that our hearts shall be aglow with His love and all fear will thus be cast out (1 John 4:18). "They that were ready went in" (Matthew 25:19). Thus we see that some will be ready. Oh, Brother, Sister, let us be in that company no matter what it costs us in consecration, sacrifice, or anything else!
