Always among Gods people there has been a holy and believing remnant who prayed down the outpouring of the Spirit. When things were blackest and most discouraging, such as these sought the face of God, and God heard and answered their prayers.
Such is the case in the Church today. There are those who see the promises of God and are setting their faces to seek this new thing from heaven. Daniel understood by books the number of years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet
and I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes (Dan. 9:2,3).
Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood
a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you (1 Peter 2:9). Shall we be numbered among this holy remnant in these last days?
Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field (Zech. 10:1).
Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of
to do it
As the holy flock
so they shall know that I am the Lord (Ezek. 36:37,38).
